One of the challenges for experts is the relationship between democracy and political Islam in presidential and parliamentary systems. Presidential system: In this system, the president, as the head of the executive branch, usually has many powers and is directly elected by the people. Parliamentary system: In this model, executive power is mainly vested in the prime minister and the cabinet elected from the House of Representatives. This structure contributes to the overall democratic system and establishes greater mutual relations between the three branches of government. The objectives of the research were to express the controversial characteristics and applications of democracy and political Islam among presidential and parliamentary systems, with the Islamic Republic of Iran as the centerpiece. The research method was qualitative-analytical and the data collection tool was from a collection of books, articles, reports, and theses related to the topic. The system of the Islamic Republic of Iran is a blend of democracy and political Islam. In this system, high-ranking religious and political officials such as the Supreme Leader play a strategic and vital role in the decision-making process. The Islamic Republic seeks to strike a balance between Islamic principles and democratic requirements. The legitimacy of this system is secured not only through popular votes but also by relying on religious principles.
